Installing the latest cumulative fix package for Websydian Express v2.x

Always remember to do a backup prior to updating your Websydian Express installation. Remember the IFS objects used by Websydian Express.

Obtain Websydian Express v2.0 PTF package

Download the latest cumulative fix package from our download application at http://www.websydian.com
Unpack the ZIP file to your local hard disk

Restore PTF package to PTF library

Do the following in order to transfer and restore the PTF package to your Websydian Express PTF library:

Log onto your System i, and create a save file to store the PTF package. To do this, type:

CRTSAVF QGPL/WXP20PTF [Enter]
Transfer the PTF save file to your System i. To do this:
- Open an command prompt (DOS prompt)
- Type: cd \directory\where\you\put\package\WXP20PTF.savf
- Type: ftp your-as-400-name-here
- Type: (enter your username & password when asked)
- Type: Binary
- Type: put wxp20ptf.savf QGPL/WXP20PTF
- Type: quit
Back on your System i, type:
Making sure that you enter the Websydian Express PTF library as the library where you would like to restore the objects.

RSTOBJ OBJ(*ALL) SAVLIB(WXP20PTF) DEV(*SAVF) SAVF(QGPL/WXP20PTF) RSTLIB(your_ptf_library) [Enter]

Run PTF installation program

The PTF installation program performs the following tasks.

Restores new physical files to the Websydian Express database library
Compiles new logical files to the Websydian Express database library
Makes sure that the supplied message file S2SYMSGF is localized to support CCSID of the machine where installed
Restores new and updated HTML templates, Websydian Server runtime, and web resources.
Packs a new version of the WAR file used to deploy on WebSphere or any other servlet engine

Perform the following to run the PTF installation program.

Stop the Websydian Express Application using the STOP command located in the Websydian Express program library

Run PTF installation program by issuing the following commands

Websydian IFS objects location
IFS directory where Websydian Express IFS files are located. If in doubt check the parameter "Websydian home directory (WSYDDIR)" of the STRWS command located in the Websydian Express program library.

The first part of the URL when accessing the Websydian Express web site. This is also the name of the WAR file used to deploy on the WebSphere Application Server or any other servlet engine.

Start the Websydian Express Application using the START command located in the Websydian Express program library

Update Websydian Web Server Component

Perform only this step if one of the following applies to you:

You have the Websydian Web Component deployed on WebSphere for System i or any other servlet engine. This requires a WAR file during the deployment process.
You have the Websydian Web Component for System i installed on a separate System i acting as a Web Server.

New resources are available for the Web Server please make sure that you include the updated resources for the Websydian Express administration interface.

These files are located in the fix package in the directory named "Web Server Component".

Special Note for 2E Developers

A new set of Websydian Express for 2E developer libraries are available. Please restore libraries WXPMDL and WXPGEN from the Websydian Express PTF library.

Special Note for RPG Developers

New ILE RPG header source members are made available in the QRPGLESRC object of the Websydian Express PTF library. This includes new API's for Websydian Express development. Make sure that you reference these members during development.

Note for Plex developers

Make sure that you download the latest installation package of Websydian v6.0 to obtain v2.1 of the WSYAPI library model.
